Nowadays, we always hear or read from the social media news about the sea as a place where people can find a redemption from a life. Unfortunately sometimes the sea betrays and instead of becoming in a safe place it turns into an abyss of death and pain.

There was a sensational discovery in Herculaneum ruins in the last days: a skeleton came to light one step from the seashore. It was probably a 45-year-old man escaping from the terrible 79 A.D.  Vesuvius eruption. All around full of gas and lava. Everyone tried to run away from that natural disaster. The archiologists and scientists say that the bones are red because of his blood, since he had been burnt by the magma. The eruption in a few minutes overwhelmed the whole city, and people thought the sea could be their only chance for freedom.

This discovery made us think the many migrants who try to save themselves and look for freedom across the sea. They, as in 79 A.D. catastrophe, hope to regain freedom by travelling in overcrowded boats to get to Europe. The Sea can save and kill at the same time, becoming the tomb of many people. However, the sea is still considered a step away from freedom.
